All Hallows Church | Leeds | 30.1.11
Yesterday’s gig in Leeds was amazing. I took my photographer pal Tom Price along for the epic five-hour trip. We picked up a hitcher called Hammy en route. He was a Scottish lighting engineer and he thought Katy Perry was okay. Then we stopped at my parents’ house in Upton-upon-Severn for a Sunday roast. It was off the chain, especially the potatoes (McCain’s Home Roast). The...

Two free downloads!
I’ve downloaded a couple of things in the past week that you should all download too because they’re free and great. Andrew Belle’s album The Ladder is available for free/donation on NoiseTrade. Brilliant US acoustic singer-songwriter stuff. Flight Brigade’s new EP is available for free from their website. Gorgeous UK pop-folk with strings and harmonies and all things...

how many shows do you do a year?
It varies from year to year. This past year I’ve been playing a little less because I’ve been writing my new album and also playing for other bands like Futures and The King Blues. I think the most gigs I ever did in a year was 2007 where I played about 200. You can see my entire gigography here - http://lukeleighfield.tumblr.com/post/489428820/gigography Ask me a burning...

Blog post from Jenn Enders →
Click the link above for a really interesting blog post from Jenn Enders, wife of Ace Enders (I Can Make a Mess, The Early November). The blog is about how Ace is being forced to give up making music because of the effects of illegal downloading and the state of the music industry in general, but also about how fans are rallying around him and offering financial help so that he can keep creating...

It’s a new year and therefore we’re having a clear-out of the last few t-shirts in our shop to make room for some brand spanking new Got Got Need Records and Luke Leighfield t-shirts in the very near future. Rumours that the next Leighfield t-shirt design will feature him…

I haven’t done a load of new year’s resolutions this year (not that I ever really have before). Instead I’m doing this thing called My One Word, which is where you focus on one thing you want to change by the end of the year, which hopefully encompasses lots of smaller things along the way. I’ve chosen patience for lots of reasons, one of which being that I’m pretty...

Christmas Living Room (and other places) Tour...
Hello everyone! Happy new year! Just before Christmas I embarked on a two-week tour of living rooms across the UK and it was incredibly fun. I wrote a little blog about each night and I’ve finally got around to compiling them all in one place along with the corresponding crowd photo. If you have some time to kill then why not have a read? I was joined on tour by my good friend, and...
