NEW SEASON!
If you haven’t been following what renaissance man and pop prodigy Luke Leighfield has been up to over the last 12 months, you’re most certainly in for a treat.
Alongside working some rather unusual jobs (pall-bearing, proofreading, design consultancy), Luke came up with some rather snazzy crowd-funding projects to pay for his latest album, New Season. The left-field thinking didn’t stop there however, as Luke has worked tirelessly into making this a multi-sensual project with the eco-friendly packaged cd being accompanied by some Swedishly designed clothes, photo books, a feature length documentary, polaroid pictures, chord books, phone calls, posters and a rather natty bag to hold it all in.
And on top of all that, I’ve heard the album now, and I can truly say that it sounds humungous. It’s a sonically ginormous record that goes in all kinds of directions from the pop-rock we all know and love him for, with occasional dalliances into post-rock guitar-screaming soundscapes, and nicely finished off with some toddler-soothing, fuzzy-chest-feeling (not the dangerous feeling, no stabs) dreamy ballads.
I’m thoroughly excited about you all hearing and seeing it - so do check out the pre-orders page, where you can also get a taster of some of the photography that I did for Luke.
