Here’s a behind the scenes shot from the New Season campaign video shoot. Tom spent ages doing cool things with flashes and blinds and apertures and all kinds of complex photography things to get this one. Isn’t he good?
There are more behind the scenes odds and ends going on to the exclusive New Season blog this week, which you get access to if you donate to the campaign.

Deal H - Donate and Suggest!
I spent months constructing and tweaking my New Season campaign so that it would offer interesting things that I thought people would want in return for helping me to record my new album. However I realised that no matter how hard you try to work out what people want, you can never really know, which is why the final deal on my campaign page is Deal H - Donate and Suggest! whereby you can tell me what you want from me and what you’d like to pay for it.
A guy called Neil from Scotland emailed me with his invention, the Aluminium Deal:
Subject: How about the Aluminium Package Deal?
Date: 3 February 2011
To: luke@lukeleighfield.com
This involves me sending you a dubious looking Scottish tenner every month for the next twelve months, and both my children xxxxxx and xxxxxx get a mention in the sleeve notes. And I get a signed copy of the new CD with a lewd message. Along with your tenner you will also receive a bonus mystery gift and possibly something you might actually want/like. I might also do some deep breathing phone calls and enquire as to what colour underwear you are wearing.
Send me your address and watch the funny money hit your doormat.
All the best, Neil.
The picture above is of the contents of my first package from Neil. It contains dubious Scottish bank notes, an Iron Man comic, and a Bridge Nine compilation. I’m definitely going to read my comic whilst listening to hardcore later.
So if you have any fun ideas for Deal H - Donate and Suggest, just send me an email and we’ll see if we can come to an agreement. It doesn’t have to be a lot of money and it can be for anything you like.
Thanks so much for all your help so far and especially for all your reblogs on my video. Anyone who spares any money, large or small, is really helping to make this album become a reality. I can’t wait to start recording!
Luke
Big thanks to mega pop stars Scouting for Girls for telling the world about my campaign on Twitter last night. She’s They’re so lovely. Ya geddit?
If you haven’t done so yet, please check out my New Season campaign and consider giving me some of your hard-earned cash so that I can make a killer album.
Introducing New Season - The Soundtrack
If you’ve seen my new video then you’ll probably have noticed that the soundtrack is killer. Never before have Annie Lennox, Chromeo, Bach and Vanessa Carlton sounded quite so good juxtaposed next to one another.
Thankfully Tom Price realised this and made a playlist of all the songs on Spotify for your listening pleasure. You can check it out here.
In other news, the photo above is of Tom and I from when I did a DJ set in Middlesbrough back in December. The room was empty but we weren’t too bothered.
37 notes! 1,277 views! Thanks so much for all your help in getting the word out about my New Season campaign. It really does mean the world to me. I’ve read all of your lovely notes every time the video has been reblogged and each one warms my heart. Thank you.
Just a couple of things:
- In case it’s unclear, all of these deals are available worldwide.
- I’ve put up a few things in the exclusive New Season blog already. You’ll get access to it as soon as you contribute a few pounds to the cause. What joy!
- Have a great weekend.

Dear friends, please watch the video above; it’s all about my new album and how I need your help to record and release it. You can find out loads more information about this on my new website at lukeleighfield.com/newseason.
I’ve never needed a reblog more than I need it now. So please, reblog like you’ve never reblogged before.
I love you, each and every one of you.
P.S. please reblog.
Two days into the campaign.
I’m not going to be updating you on the New Season campaign every day just so you know, but there are a couple of things to say today. Thank you once again for the amazing response to the video and site so far! The video that I posted on Tumblr has now been reblogged about 30 times which is all down to you guys. Thanks! Please do reblog it if you haven’t done so yet.
Stuck for what to give your loved one on Valentine’s Day (which, FYI is in ten days)? Why not check out Deal B on the New Season campaign which is where I write you or a loved one a song based on a photo / concept / idea that you give me. Perhaps your cherished person has the most remarkable eyebrows and you want me to write a song about them, just so that they know. I can do that. I will record the song in my room here in Southampton and send it through to you before Valentine’s Day. Not only that but as a limited offer, just in the lead up to Valentine’s Day, I will make you a Valentine’s Day card to accompany your order for you to give to your loved one. Not bad, right? I made a load of Christmas cards in December and they were pretty decent. Anyway, place your order quick sharp and I will email or phone you to discuss the song.
Anyone that donates to my campaign gets access to a blog where I’ve been posting up exclusive photos, and also a preview of the t-shirt design that’s going to be accompanying all New Season packages (except for the Bronze Deal). The sooner you make a decision, the sooner you can see all this rad stuff.
Finally, thanks to YouTube sensation Kate McGill, pop star Jose Vanders, superstar US of A radio presenter Larry Flick, The 405, and (again) real proper actual film star Jamie Campbell Bower for bigging up my campaign yesterday. Jamie’s tweet ensured that I got a gaggle of Twilight fans worldwide following me on Twitter. I’ll throw in a few vampire tweets every now and then to keep them happy.
Hasta luego,
Luke
